My Piano Wants to Kill Your Uncle

I am torn between Frank Zappa and John Carpenter this month. the FZ comes from an attempt to copy his style that failed quite badly :-). I won’t bore you with a link. The John Carpenter reference is to do with my entry for the GHRC‘s May task – “Movie Madness”. It’s a bit strange, mostly as a result of the composition / recording process I used, but it can be found here

All your technical books in one place

I have to let you know about Computer Manuals. This is one of the best online bookshops that I have used. Unlike some of its competitors, they have a sensible shipping cost policy – 2-3 day delivery to Mainland UK for example is included in the cost of the book.

Of course, technical books are all very well, but what about non-technical tomes? They’re expanding their other sections too. For example, biographies,
Crime and mysteries, etc. The list goes on.

Go on. Have a look. you know it makes sense.

Sri Lanka Travel Guide

If only I had known about World66’s guide to Sri Lanka before my honeymoon, I would have had a much better idea of what I was going to experience.

This is a concise, but well written guide to the country, and is just one of the many that are available at world66.

Outlook 2007 RSS Feeds

I’ve been playing with Office 2007 Beta 2, as have many other people, and I like it. In fact, this post was composed in Word, and published straight here.

One thing I don’t seem to be able to get to the bottom of, though, is the RSS reader built into Outlook. I can set up all my feeds and get the headers at least once. The problem is that it will often just bug out on a certain feed, and no amount of fiddling will bring it back. I t fires back into life if I delete the feed and recreate it, but what’s the point in that? I’ll be Googling like crazy today trying to find the problem.

I’ll get back to you later.
